at ANY rate, for several years now i keep a playlist of things to listen to (sorted by: new albums from this year, albums from previous years, single songs, with the albums being represented by either the first song on the album OR the song i stopped on if i'm in the middle of listening to it). my current list looks like as follows:

concerts
last night, i went to the album release party for the band BreakAway, which is headed by my friend's gf who just recently came out as a trans woman!! i missed the first band who was opening for them bc i got there late bc i had to work, but the second opening band, Turning Tydes, was super good!!! they did a cover of Linkin Park's "Numb" (not the first LP cover of the night, also), and i rly enjoyed their set and energy! and then BreakAway performed the entirety of their new album + some extras (TWO Linkin Park covers, ehe). had a BLAST!!!
in worse news, underscores WAS going to play cbus and i was gonna try and get tix for me and my gf but the concert got canceled... unsure why but i hope everyone is like Okay. :( shit sux tho.
in lieu of that, i may try and see 10 Years later this month, or possibly Lip Critic next month!!! haven't pulled the trigger on either yet, but... Am Considering.

finally listened to this last night, wasn’t BLOWN AWAY but i liked it well enough to maybe see em in concert LOL + it’s def in my top 5 albums of 2026 so far. plus, i'll probably check out their older stuff and/or future stuff. this was a rec from a friend and i Did enjoy it.
The Art of a Fake Laugh - HummusVacuum
already knew i’d like it bc i like what i’ve heard from em so far + they’re somewhat similar in tone to MattstaGraham, whom i also rly like. they’re from cbus so hopefully they’ll tour here at some point, i’d love to see em live!! top 5 album of 2026 so far (for me).

ALSO a top 5, insanely good fucking album. of course the song i liked most off it ("TSAR BOMBA") is not on spxtify due to Copyright Shit. def need to check out older JPEGMAFIA shit for Sure.
